CREArTA is a refereed journal with an interdisciplinary arts focus. The journal aims to encourage the discussion of research in the field of the arts. Contributions that focus on the links across and between the arts, and on the way such linkages reflect on and relate to creativity, imagination and learning, are encouraged.
It is the policy of CREArTA to consider only articles that are not simultaneously being considered for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts submitted to CREArTA are anonymously reviewed by two or more referees. The editor will return any manuscripts that do not meet submission requirements.
CREArTA reserves the right to make changes in all manuscripts to improve clarity, to conform to style, to correct grammar, and to fit available space.
Please follow these guidelines in preparing your manuscript for submission.
Authors must send three printed copies along with an electronic copy in IBM
format on a disk. No emailed documents will be accepted. Manuscripts must be
accompanied by a self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage in the event
that a manuscript is returned. Manuscripts will not be returned unless a self-addressed
and stamped envelope is included.
As the editor will be submitting articles
to blind review, authors should exclude their names, place of
employment and any clues to the author's identity in the manuscript. The name
of the author
may appear only on the cover page.
Length The length of manuscripts must not exceed 5000 words.
Illustrations, drawings or tables must be submitted ready for direct reproduction.
All text must be in Times New Roman, 11 point, 1.5 spacing, with margins of 2.5cm.
Abstracts describing the essence of the manuscript must be 150 words or less and submitted on a separate sheet.
Cover page Authors must include their names, titles, institutions, mailing addresses, home and work phone numbers, fax numbers and email addresses (if applicable) and a brief bio note of no more than 100 words, describing areas of specialisation.
Publication rights CREArTA reserves the publication rights on published articles.
Style Authors must follow the Australian Government Publishing Service Style Guide for questions of style, grammar, punctuation and form. A summary appears below.
Referencing
The AGPS Style Guide uses the Author-Date System (i.e. Harvard system) of referencing
'When an author makes textual reference to an authority, he or she identifies it instantly by giving, in parentheses, the authority's name and the year of publication of the work to which reference has been made (sometimes it is also necessary to provide page or volume numbers, or both).'
Generally, a textual citation requires only the name of the author (or authors)
and the year of publication (with no publication between the two items).
These should be placed at the end of a sentence (before the concluding punctuation)
whenever possible. For example:
The theory was first propounded in 1970
(Larson 1971).
Relevant page numbers may be included in the textual reference, with a comma between the year and 'p.' or 'pp.', thus:
The theory was first propounded in 1970 (Larson 1971, p. 245).
Larsen (1971, pp. 245-7) was the first to propound the theory.
If more than one work is cited, the citation should be presented thus:
(Larsen 1971; Haddon 1969)
